Frequently Asked Questions:
Is there an application fee to audition for a music scholarship?
No, it is completely free to audition! The only application fee required is to apply to Arkansas State University ($30). Schedule your music scholarship audition with the button above!
What will I need to play in my audition?
Undergraduate applicants should prepare one lyrical and one technical solo or etude. (ASBOA All-State etudes meet these requirements.) You will also be asked to play the Major and chromatic scales (2-3 octaves when possible) and a short sight-reading excerpt.
When is the scholarship audition deadline?
Priority consideration is given to those who audition prior to April 1st, so we recommend you audition before this date! Scholarship auditions are also available until the Fall semester begins.
Can Dr. Hoeckley help me prepare for my audition?
Yes! All prospective students are encouraged to schedule a lesson with Dr. Hoeckley! She can help you improve your audition materials and increase your chances of earning a more substantial scholarship package. shoeckley@astate.edu
